We need a hair cut!

In Mr Owens' 2nd class we were learning about how plants grow.
We learnt that plants need 3 main things to grow - water, sunlight and air.

We then made grass heads out of an old pair of tights, stuffed with cotton wool and grass seeds. We had great fun making the faces of the grass heads.
We made the body out of old yogurt containers and the school milk containers.

Notice the change in some of them from being as bald as an egg to needing a hair cut! :)

Happy Halloween from 2nd class

We in Mr Owens' 2nd class have been busy decorating the classroom for Halloween.

We made fantastic haunted house silhouettes based on the story 'Mr Lambini's Haunted House'.

Lá Fhéile Bríde

Déanaimid Lá Fhéile Bríde a cheiliúradh ar an gcéad lá de mhí Feabhra. Is é sin

an chéad lá den earrach. Is í Naomh Bríd banéarlamh na hÉireann.

We celebrate St Brigid's day on the 1st of February. It is the first day of Spring. St Brigid is the Female Patron of Ireland. 

In Mr Owens' 2nd class we celebrated St Brigid's day by making St Brigid's crosses; just as St Brigid did herself in order to teach people about Christianity. 

While we found them tricky at the beginning to make them, we soon got into gear and made some wonderful crosses!
