Titanic in Rang a Dó

Titanic

Over the last number of weeks the children in Mr Flynn's  rang a dó have experienced life abroad the famous Titanic. The children became actual passengers aboard the famous liner and had to produce their boarding passes each day in order to gain entry onto the ship (or their classroom)! Some of us were First Class Passengers, like John Jacob Astor, the 'unsinkable' Maggie Brown, the owner, Bruce Ismay and others. Others were Second and Third Class passengers and Mr Flynn was Captain Edward J Smith. Carol and Bernice were also officers abroad the ship. We learnt lots of really interesting facts and trivia about the Titanic and the highlight of our study was our dress up day last Friday. We had looked at how the different passengers would have dressed in 1912, and everyone really put in a big effort in looking the part! We had lots of visits from other classes and really enjoyed telling the boys and girls all the information we had learnt about the Titanic. Unfortunately, just before home-time our ship hit an iceberg and sank. It was really sad to learn about all the passengers and crew who died on board the Titanic, but we really enjoyed the learning experience.

We hope you enjoy the photos below!
